Langtang HEP Celebrates 3.8 km Headrace Tunnel Breakthrough Event


The construction of the main 3.8 Km tunnel of the Langtang Hydro Power Project with a capacity of 20 megawatts under construction at Langtang in Rasuwa by Multi Energy Development Pvt Ltd, which is also invested by SEED Energy Limited, has been completed.

The project has completed the construction of a 3.8 km long tunnel. Janardhan Aryal, the company secretary of the project construction party, RM Group, informed that a tunnel has been constructed up to the power house in Langtang river in Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-5 Syafrubesi.

According to RM Group, the physical progress of the project has reached 80 percent and the financial progress has reached 65 percent. All packages of the project are being constructed by Waiba Infratech The financing of the project has been managed under the leadership of Laxmi Sunrise Bank with the investment of Kumari and Siddharth Bank, RM Group and SEED Energy Limited.

According to the company, the project has been financed by Laxmi Sunrise Bank 1.5 billion, Siddhartha Bank 540 million, Kumari Bank 300 million and the rest by RM Group. Krishna Prasad Acharya, chairman of RM Group informed that the goal is to complete the construction of the project and connect the generated electricity to the national transmission system within one year.
